The 2008 elections for the Executive Board and General committee took place on Wednesday 13th February 2008 - and the results bring into effect a dynamic, and well qualified team to continue the upwardly mobile direction of the African Caribbean Business Network.
or ACBN for short, is a business development network whose membership comprises African and Caribbean owned businesses across the full spectrum of business types and activities.
The principle strategic aim of the ACBN is to facilitate the creation of the optimum enterprise support environment in the London region for African Caribbean owned businesses.
We work with our membership, sponsors, and government to help redress the inbalance that exists in the number, size, and success of African and Caribbean owned businesses in the UK economy.
Through the ACBN and in compliance with the Data Protection Act 1998, ACBN members network and conduct business with other black and minority ethnic enterprises (BAME’s). In addition, the ACBN network provides a support infrastructure which aims to promote more successful business practice and encourage the growth of the sector as a whole. To this end, we hold regular networking and development events which bring together our members.
The ACBN regularly organise business support seminars and events to help BAME businesses to come together, to learn how they can help their business grow, and champion the cause with big business and government.
The ACBN have relaunched the premium membership scheme to offer active ACBN members a range of benefits in addition to standard membership. Benefits include FREE business information from ACBN sponsors the British Library IP Centre, a consultation service from specialist business advisors, and FREE access to any three ACBN events/seminars.
“We have put together a great package for those members who are most pro-actively seeking business success.” - Afua Yeboah (CEO - ACBN)
The ACBN is funded by the London Development Agency and works collaboratively with a growing list of partners which currently includes The British Library, Royal Mail, and Barclays Bank Plc.
