WEST AFRICA NIGHT

Centre For Democracy and Development -
London, UK – The second annual West Africa Night, hosted by the Centre for Democracy and Development (CDD), aims to celebrate the achievements and contribution of the West African Diaspora in the UK and to commemorate the 51st anniversary of Ghana’s Independence, the first sub-Saharan African country to achieve this milestone.
The event promises to be an exciting evening;  Master of Ceremonies is former BBC TV and Radio presenter and now Director of Colourful radio Henry Bonsu. Ms Elsie Owusu OBE, founder member of the Society of Black Architects, Board Member of the Royal African Society and Principal of Elsie Owusu Architects, will be delivering the keynote speech.  West African success stories highlighted throughout the evening will include Dr. Ola Sholarin, Senior Lecturer at the Westminster Business School, Femi Okutubo, Editor-in-Chief of The Trumpet Newspaper, Afua Yeboah, CEO of the African Caribbean Business Network, and John Mensah, Director of Outreach Management Services.
Entertainment on the night will be provided by the outstanding Afrobeat star Dele Sosimi and his band, DJ Ade Darami, and a performance by Adanta African Dance. There will also be an auction of Ghanaian artefacts, and guests will be treated to a dinner of superb African cuisine and drinks.
